![]() ![]() Hospitality and leisure added 45,000 new positions. ![]() Health care rose 43,000, and Wall Street jobs increased by 18,000. Professional and business services had the most jobs created, coming in at 70,000 new positions, the government said. Hourly wages rose at a rate that outpaced expectations, and the quality of the jobs added was mostly pretty good. Going back to Friday’s Payrolls report, which showed a gain of 255,000 jobs in July and retroactively raised payroll growth for May and June, there’s a lot to like. Other pending reports include the Investor Movement Index®, or the IMX SM, data on Monday from TD Ameritrade, which tracks whether retail traders are buyers or sellers in the markets and where they’re allocating their money and July Producer Price Index (PPI) data on Friday. The nice data from the July jobs report would seem to indicate some growing wage pressure, with wages up 2.6% over the last year and 0.3% in July, so it will be interesting to see if the JOLTS reports shows lots of openings in high-wage positions. ![]() Will consumers continue to show up at the stores? We’ll find out on Friday.Īnother report to watch in the week ahead is the June “JOLTS” job openings, which are due out Wednesday morning. Though July may seem early to some to talk about school spending, remember that college begins within days for many, and also some elementary schools on non-traditional schedules have already started classes.Ĭonsumers have been behind a lot of the recent economic strength, as even the otherwise tepid Q2 gross domestic product (GDP) report showed late last month. The back-to-school season may give brick-and-mortar a fighting chance to shine, because shopping for school supplies is often an active endeavor, with parents and kids going to the store together to pick out favorite products. July retail sales, which come after strong 0.6% retail sales growth in June, could be interesting to watch to see what the report says about how brick-and-mortar stores performed vs. job and wage growth could be tough to follow, but Friday’s monthly retail sales data could grab some of the post-jobs report spotlight. Her excitement is so infectious that even Kiely, who was staunchly against being involved in the girl group as a member throughout the season, admits that she "wouldn't want to be in any other girl group except for this one.The stellar U.S. Shamari declares that she's more than ready for a tour and even a season two, which Fallon and Felisha could be persuaded to join for the right price. Still, the foursome born from the show's tumultuous run is hopeful for what comes next. "I think you can really clearly see who was there to really make something, who was like super passionate, even if it made them look bad sometimes." "I mean, at least I could tell when I watch it back, who's there for what reasons," she adds. Kiely expands, explaining that fans can see how Aubrey didn't mesh with the group on the series. ![]() Shamari sums up her thoughts on the singer with a simple, "Good riddance and good luck." She took to Instagram to announce her decision to leave the country back in July, writing that she had sold her place in America and "just boarded my flight to a new life." The Danity Kane singer was notably absent from the series after storming out of the studio in episode four. When it comes to former cast member Aubrey O'Day, the sentiments are a little less welcoming. In fact, Kiely says she'd be happy to move to the background and "do a little two-step" if that was necessary to bring the "Laundromat" singer back into the fold. And although Fallon and Felisha note that they don't believe any of their former castmates regret their decision to leave, none of them are closing the door for their former castmates to return, especially Nivea. And I just think that every single one of those women were there for a reason and we did everything that we came to do," Fallon shares, adding that Shamari still keeps in touch with a few of the women. "We all had an experience and we learned from it and we've grown from it. Like, I want to travel - I want to do big things with BluPrint because I feel like we have chemistry and a lot of people are probably shocked."Īs for the women who began the series but left before BluPrint was officially formed, Felisha and Fallon say they have "nothing but love" for former members Irish Grinstead, Lemisha Grinstead, Nivea and Pamela Long. So, of course I would love to go on tour with BluPrint. It's the performance, that's my favorite part about just being an entertainer. ![]()
